Start Rocket is a multimedia magazine focused on high-tech entrepreneurship outside of Silicon Valley. A whole world of smart, creative people work on building the Next Big Thing in every corner of this country and indeed the globe, just as they do in the area around San Francisco. But the challenges, lifestyle, and opportunities differ in some significant ways. Start Rocket aims to cover the startup environment that these companies and entrepreneurs face.
Some of the content you can expect to see will include:
We are actively seeking contributors interested in writing or creating audio or video content for Start Rocket. In particular, we are seeking regular correspondents from major cities and regions, including Boston, New York, Washington (DC), Denver, Atlanta, and others. In addition, we are interested in occasional contributors who have something vital to say. Our emphasis is on reporting and information, with less focus on commentary. Start Rocket should be a place where you read about something you didn't know, hadn't thought about before, or that offers a valuable summary of an important topic.
By the way, Start Rocket pays for contributions. We are firm believers that content producers need to be compensated fairly for their work. As a startup ourselves, we may not pay the highest rates, but we work with all of our writers and multimedia producers to strike a fair bargain that can include cash and promotional consideration. We recognize that some of you may be more interested in raising your profile and others may be more in need of a simple check.
